I am an experienced science and math tutor for students of all ages. I have tutored children in elementary school all the way to adults in graduate level classes. Some of the courses I tutor include algebra 1 & 2, biomedical engineering, biology, calculus 1-3, chemical and biomolecular engineering, physical science, geometry, pre-algebra, elementary math, middle school math, pre-calculus, statistics, trigonometry, anatomy, chemistry, organic chemistry, microbiology, physical chemistry, physics, physiology, life sciences, and multivariable calculus. I also tutor students in similar IB and AB courses as well as those who are preparing for a standardized exam such as the ACT, SAT, MCAT or ACCUPLACER. My tutoring style is very practical and hands on. I have been told I have a gift for making abstract concepts more accessible for students even if they have struggled with the concepts previously. The first step in my process is to explain these concepts in the broadest of terms and connecting them to a student's existing understanding of the topic. Then I begin to drill down into the more specific topic and discover exactly what the student's authentic understanding is at any given point. Finally, I create lessons based on the student's needs so we only spend time on those topics with which they truly need assistance.
