Kaitlin B.
Private tutor in Galveston, TX
Education
I've studied at Texas A&M University at Galveston for a Bachelor's in Marine Biology, graduated with a 2.9 GPA in 2013. Currently I'm working on a Master's in Environmental Science with a focus on Biology. I will be starting work on my thesis this fall, which concerns mid depth coral refs and fish populations in the Flower Gardens Banks National Marine Sanctuary, in the Gulf of Mexico.
Experience
I would like to be a tutor because I am interested in the importance of education, but believe I would work best one-on-one, as opposed to a whole classroom of students. I have experience in multiple fields of Biology and Ecology, and Environmental Science topics, such as Conservation Biology, Aquatic Science, vertebrate and invertebrate zoology, coastal plant ecology, and Marine ecology. I have also worked in areas of water testing, animal care, drinking water chemistry, and marsh ecosystem science.

Hobbies
I enjoy kayaking, all things nerdy, baking, anything dealing with animals and conservation, and the idea of children becoming more interested in science! I am married to a history teacher. We also teach dance classes for swing and two step. I am willing to drive anywhere on the island, or to a meet up location, if that makes you more comfortable. I also used to play the clarinet, and enjoy reading and critiquing writing (proof reading for essays or friction writing, ways to improve readability).
